“The Shortest Day” – a festival dedicated to short films this year will be held for the ninth time in the organization of the “Filmkultura” association. With its diverse programs, this festival brings a recapitulation of the most significant events in the world of short films during the previous year, and represents an excellent last opportunity of the year for the audience to watch the boldest short films by young filmmakers throughout Serbia and Europe.
Traditionally, “The Shortest Day” is held on December 21 in the Belgrade Cultural Center Hall, as part of the World Short Film Day celebration, and the audience will have the opportunity to watch short films.
The repertoire will include amateur and student short films from Serbia, Croatia and Romania.
The film program will be followed by an award ceremony. The main feature of this year’s student selection is research.
The authors create their world in different ways and deal with topics that, in their raw and authentic way, deal with young people, friendship, family relationships, the passing of love as well as war, loneliness and disappointment.
The festival is realized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the RS and the Film Center of Serbia.
