Based on more than 30 submitted proposals, the Council consisted of: Mara Anjoli Vujić, curator of the Cukrarna gallery in Ljubljana, Ana Hušman, visual artist and professor at the Department of Animated Film and New Media at the ALU in Zagreb and Igor Toholj, editor of the film program at Student’s City Cultural Center and an independent author of experimental and documentary films, have chosen:
– Mladen Bundal’s solo exhibition Arrivals-Departures, in which the artist tries to see migrations as universal phenomena inseparable from people, regardless of their scope and impact, whether it is a significant change of course or a small, almost negligible movement (change) that we witness every day;
– Ivana Papić‘s solo exhibition The Touch of Wild Walnut x Walnut Woman, which is a continuation of the artistic and research project Wild Walnut (2021-), and whose focus is the connection between the female heritage of the Dalmatian Zagora and the wild walnut (pajasen or tree of heaven), an invasive plant species such as simultaneous metaphors of patriarchy, but also of female adaptability and resilience;
– The solo exhibition of Manja Ristić and Aleksandar Lazar, a joint project of the two artists presented in the form of an immersive multi-channel installation Atlantis VII built from subtle sound details – hydrophone, field and teraphone recordings and videos derived from photographic images of the Atlantic Ocean;
– Ivana Ranisavljević‘s solo exhibition Transgressive spaces of femininity consisting of video works and video documentation of performances presented in the period from 2021 to 2024, through which the artist critically examines the social position of women in the contemporary moment;
– Two projects proposed independently, which at the suggestion of the Council were combined into one term in which the artist Alma Gačanin will be presented (Born to Win, a project through which the artist explores the power play between the person who is hired to save your life or career, but also to serve you) and artist Krisjanis Elviks (Long Distance Call project in collaboration with curator Anna Laganovska that focuses on themes of identity and geopolitics while exploring liminality and transitional spaces)
– Audio-visual installation by Dragan Novković and Vladimir Moric 3321 SECOND PORTRAIT based on the album of experimental electronic art music called 369 SECOND, which consists of 9 tracks accompanied by corresponding video works.
Program for 2025/2026. year will also include exhibitions that were postponed to 2025 due to the implementation of the 60th October Salon, namely:
– The Renewal of Meaning project by artists Šejma Fera and Saša Stojanović in collaboration with scientist Marija Tasić;
